Daniel (played by Rob Mallard) hasn’t had the best time with romance this year on Coronation Street as after a failed relationship with Nicky Wheatley (Kimberly Hart-Simpson) last year, he ended up falling for Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) a couple of months ago. Unfortunately, this pairing didn’t work out, despite the two ITV soap characters still harbouring feelings for one another. As they were both encouraged to be honest with the other about their feelings during Friday night’s episode, it seemed the father of one was moving on with Lydia (Rebecca Ryan) as Daisy went to confess how much she loves him. Later on in the episode, as Daisy was regretting her decision, Daniel met Lydia as Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) had brought her along to the drinks stall.
Realising her heart belonged to Daniel more than the football she was with, Daisy ran back to the cobbles in the pouring rain.
It’s not yet known how far things will go between Daniel and Lydia or whether this was just a drunken kiss the pair shared.
However, if they decide they want to enjoy each other’s company a bit more, they could end up sleeping together as they seek comfort in one another.
